The Antarctic Science Foundation is a non-profit based in Australia, supporting scientific research in Antarctica. The aim of this collaboration is to explore a new way to talk about climate—one that inspires hope and resolve, rather than despair or anxiety. Conversations led to a poetic manifesto that evokes both the wonder and the scientific importance of Antarctica, using a visual and verbal language in marked contrast to sector norms. This is now being used as a long-term manifesto internally and online, as well as taking physical form as a low-cost street poster campaign in Sydney.
